Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 21, 2026
Protecting your private information is important to Code Wiz. This Privacy Policy explains how Code Wiz Franchise System LLC and the Code Wiz websites, services, and participating locations collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information.
This Privacy Policy applies to www.codewiz.com, www.thecodewiz.com, www.codewizfranchise.com, and other websites, online forms, booking pages, registration portals, communications, and services that link to this Privacy Policy. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Code Wiz,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Code Wiz Franchise System LLC, the Code Wiz brand, and, where applicable, independently owned and operated Code Wiz franchise locations that collect or use information in connection with Code Wiz programs and services.
Code Wiz provides coding and technology education programs for children and teens. Because our programs serve children, please read the “Children’s Privacy” section carefully. In this Privacy Policy, references to the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) concern children under 13 years of age, although we apply protective practices to personal information about all minors.
Independently Owned and Operated Locations
Code Wiz locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees. When you request information from, book with, register with, or attend a program at a local Code Wiz location, personal information about you and your child may be collected and used by the local franchisee and by Code Wiz Franchise System LLC for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Information may be shared between a local Code Wiz location and the franchisor to respond to inquiries, process registrations, provide classes and camps, support franchise operations, manage customer service, maintain brand standards, improve services, and comply with legal obligations. Local locations may also use approved third-party platforms to manage bookings, registrations, payments, communications, waivers, attendance, and program administration.
The exact information collected may vary by location, program, platform, and the services requested. Where a local location collects information through its own approved systems or local processes, the local location is responsible for handling that information in accordance with applicable law, this Privacy Policy, and Code Wiz system requirements.
A current list of Code Wiz locations is available at codewiz.com/locations/ and upon request using the contact information in the “Contact Us” section.
Information We Collect
We collect information directly from parents, guardians, prospective customers, franchise candidates, website visitors, and other users. We also collect information through local Code Wiz locations, service providers, booking and class-management platforms, and website technologies.
Information You Provide
Depending on how you interact with Code Wiz, we may collect:
• Parent or guardian name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and communication preferences.
• Inquiry details submitted through website forms, including information about the child’s interests, age, class needs, or how we can help.
• Child or student information needed for inquiries, free trials, registrations, classes, camps, events, and program administration, such as first name, last name, age, date of birth, gender, enrollment details, attendance, progress, projects, and class history.
• Health, allergy, emergency, physician, or hospital or clinic preference information when provided by a parent or guardian or requested through a class-management or registration platform for program safety and emergency purposes. This information may receive additional protections described in the “Consumer Health Data” section below.
• Some fields that exist within our class-management platform, such as insurance or preferred-hospital fields, are not displayed to parents, are not required, and are not populated. We do not collect this information.
• Payment and transaction information when you purchase a program or service. Payment card details are generally processed by payment processors or class-management platforms rather than stored directly by Code Wiz.
• Photo, video, voice, likeness, project, or testimonial information where submitted by a parent, guardian, student, local location, or franchisee and used in accordance with applicable consents or releases.
• Franchise inquiry information, such as name, contact information, location of interest, business background, and related inquiry details.
• Communications you send to us by email, phone, SMS, web form, chat, or other channels.
Website Inquiry Forms and CRM Routing
Our website inquiry and contact forms may collect parent or guardian first name, last name, email address, phone number, the child’s first name, the child’s age, and inquiry details. Our forms are intended to be completed by parents, guardians, and other adults — not by children.
These submissions may route into our customer relationship management system and to the applicable Code Wiz location so that the location can respond to the inquiry and provide requested information. Only limited child information (such as first name and age) is stored in our CRM; sensitive child information such as health, medical, or emergency details is not.
We use parent and guardian contact information for follow-up, service communications, and, where consent is provided or otherwise permitted by law, marketing communications. We do not use children’s personal information to send marketing directly to children.
Booking, Registration, and Class-Management Platforms
Code Wiz and its locations use third-party platforms, including SimplyBook.me for free trial bookings and iClassPro for paid class and camp registrations, class management, and related program administration. These platforms may collect registration, enrollment, parent/guardian, student, payment, health, emergency, waiver, and attendance information depending on the location, program, and platform configuration.
Sensitive student information collected for program participation, safety, emergency contact, or medical/allergy awareness is used for those operational purposes only. We do not use this information to market to anyone, we do not move it into our marketing or CRM systems, and we configure our platforms and advertising tools so that it is not disclosed to advertising or analytics partners.
School and Community Programs
Some Code Wiz locations offer programs in partnership with schools, school districts, or community organizations. When a parent or guardian enrolls a student in a school-based program directly, we collect and use that information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Where a school authorizes the collection of student information for school-authorized educational purposes, we collect, use, and disclose that information solely for those educational purposes and as permitted by our agreement with the school. We do not use student information collected under school authorization for marketing or advertising, and we honor applicable requirements under COPPA, FERPA, and state student-privacy laws.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our websites or interact with our online services, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, links clicked, access times, approximate location, cookie identifiers, and other usage information.
Phone Calls and Call Recordings
We may use call tracking numbers to understand call sources, respond to inquiries, and improve service. Calls may be recorded after a notice or consent message is provided. Call records may include the caller’s phone number or name when available, date and time of call, call duration, call recording, transcript, and related call metadata.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information for the purposes described below:
• To respond to inquiries and connect parents or guardians with the appropriate Code Wiz location.
• To create, manage, and administer accounts, free trials, classes, camps, events, enrollments, attendance, and program participation.
• To process payments, transactions, confirmations, cancellations, and customer service requests.
• To communicate with parents or guardians about schedules, enrollment, program updates, safety matters, customer support, and other service-related information.
• To support child safety, including allergy, health, emergency, waiver, and incident-related administration where applicable.
• To provide marketing, promotions, newsletters, event information, or advertising to parents, guardians, prospective customers, or franchise candidates where permitted by law and subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights.
• To measure website, advertising, and campaign performance and improve our websites, services, customer experience, and franchise operations.
• To maintain security, prevent fraud, protect legal rights, comply with laws, and enforce agreements.
• To manage franchise-system operations, brand standards, reporting, training, quality assurance, and business analytics.
Children’s Privacy
Code Wiz provides educational programs for children and teens. Our websites, forms, booking flows, and registration platforms are intended to be used by parents or legal guardians, not by children acting on their own. We do not intend to collect personal information directly from children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parent or guardian involvement.
If we learn that we have collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.
When a child is enrolled in, registered for, or inquires about a Code Wiz program, information about the child is collected from a parent or guardian, from the applicable Code Wiz location, or through approved booking or class-management platforms used for parent/guardian registration.
We do not condition a child’s participation in any class, camp, event, or activity on the child disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.
Information Collected About Children
Depending on the program, location, and platform, information collected about a child may include:
• First and last name, age, date of birth, gender, and enrollment information.
• Program, class, camp, attendance, progress, project, and participation information.
• Allergy, health, emergency, physician, or hospital or clinic preference information provided by a parent or guardian for program safety.
• Photos, videos, voice, likeness, project examples, or testimonials where submitted or used in accordance with applicable consents or releases.
• Communications or notes related to customer support, attendance, program participation, safety, or incident management.
We use children’s personal information to provide and administer Code Wiz programs, support child safety, manage attendance and enrollment, communicate with parents or guardians, maintain waiver and consent records, respond to requests, and comply with legal, safety, and franchise-system obligations. We retain children’s personal information only in accordance with the written data retention policy summarized in the “Data Retention” section below.
We do not use children’s personal information to send marketing directly to children. We do not sell children’s personal information, we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of any consumer under 16 years of age, and we work to ensure children’s personal information is not disclosed to third parties for targeted advertising.
Parental Consent and Parent Rights
Where required by COPPA or other applicable children’s privacy laws, we provide notice to parents or legal guardians and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children. Where a disclosure of children’s personal information to a third party is not integral to providing our programs, we will obtain separate verifiable parental consent before making that disclosure.
Parents and legal guardians may contact us to review personal information collected about their child (including any audio recordings), request correction or deletion, refuse further collection or use, or withdraw consent, subject to legal, safety, operational, and recordkeeping requirements. We will verify that the requester is the child’s parent or legal guardian before disclosing or acting on children’s personal information, and we will coordinate with applicable Code Wiz locations and service providers as needed to respond to parental requests.
Consumer Health Data
Some information collected for program safety — such as allergy, medical condition, emergency, or physician information — may be considered “consumer health data” under the laws of certain states, including the Washington My Health My Data Act. We collect this information only as necessary to provide the programs and safety measures a parent or guardian requests. We do not sell consumer health data, we do not use it for marketing or advertising, and we configure our platforms and advertising tools so that it is not disclosed to advertising or analytics partners.
If you are a Washington resident, additional details about our collection and use of consumer health data, including your rights and how to exercise them, are available in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. We are finalizing publication of this policy as a standalone page; in the meantime, you may contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section with any questions or requests regarding consumer health data.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information in the following circumstances:
• Code Wiz locations and franchisor. Information may be shared between Code Wiz Franchise System LLC and independently owned Code Wiz locations for inquiry response, enrollment, program delivery, customer support, safety, reporting, and franchise-system operations.
• Service providers. We disclose information to vendors that provide services such as website hosting, booking, class management, CRM, email, SMS, payment processing, call tracking and recording, analytics, advertising, consent management, security, customer support, and data storage.
• Booking and class-management platforms. Information may be processed through platforms such as SimplyBook.me and iClassPro to manage free trials, registrations, payments, enrollments, waivers, attendance, safety information, and class administration.
• Advertising and analytics partners. Our websites may use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and similar technologies to measure performance and support advertising to parents, guardians, prospective customers, or franchise candidates. We configure these tools to avoid receiving children’s personal information, and we do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising.
• Business partners and promotions. We may disclose information with partners where you request or consent to such sharing, or where it is reasonably necessary to provide a requested offering.
• Legal, safety, and compliance. We may disclose information where required by law, legal process, or government request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, property, or the public.
• Business transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some state privacy laws may define certain disclosures of identifiers, device information, cookie identifiers, or online activity to advertising or analytics partners as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Where required, we provide the ability to opt out of this type of sale or sharing as described in this Privacy Policy.
Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
We use cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate our websites, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our websites, measure advertising performance, and support marketing where permitted by law.
Where required by applicable law, we provide choices regarding non-essential cookies and targeted advertising technologies through our cookie consent tool. You may accept, reject, or manage certain categories of cookies through the cookie banner or preference center. Necessary cookies may still be used because they are required for the website to function.
We may use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and similar tools. These tools may collect or receive information such as device identifiers, cookie identifiers, IP address, browser information, pages visited, events, and other online activity. These tools are configured to be used for website, advertising, and performance measurement directed at adults, and to avoid collecting children’s personal information or targeting children. We are in the process of confirming this configuration across all advertising accounts, including reviewing settings such as Meta Advanced Matching that could otherwise capture information typed into forms.
You can manage cookie preferences through our cookie banner or preference center where available. You may also use browser settings or third-party tools to limit cookies. If you disable cookies, some website features may not work properly.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, appeal, or opt-out of certain processing, including targeted advertising, sale, or sharing of personal information. To exercise privacy rights, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section.
California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to know or confirm whether we process personal information, access personal information, correct inaccurate information, delete personal information, obtain a portable copy of personal information, opt out of targeted advertising, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and appeal certain decisions.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also use an authorized agent where permitted by law, subject to verification of the agent’s authority.
To opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or sharing where applicable, use our cookie preference tools where available or contact us at legal@thecodewiz.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age, and we do not sell or share children’s personal information.
Marketing Communications
We may send marketing communications to parents, guardians, prospective customers, or franchise candidates where consent is provided or where otherwise permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. You may opt out of marketing text messages by following the instructions in the message or contacting us.
Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send non-promotional messages related to inquiries, registrations, classes, camps, accounts, payments, safety, customer service, or other transactional or administrative matters.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide requested services, administer programs, support child safety, communicate with parents or guardians, comply with legal, accounting, tax, insurance, and franchise-system obligations, resolve disputes, maintain consent and waiver records, and enforce agreements.
We maintain a written data retention policy for children’s personal information. We do not retain children’s personal information indefinitely, and we retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the specific purposes for which it was collected, as summarized below. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or anonymize it, and we coordinate with applicable Code Wiz locations and service providers as needed.
The retention periods below reflect our adopted written retention policy. We are implementing these periods across our systems and coordinating with Code Wiz locations and service providers to apply them.
| Information category | General retention approach |
| Website or free trial inquiries that do not enroll | Deleted or de-identified up to 24 months after the last interaction. These records have no associated payment history, so nothing is retained beyond this period unless required by law. |
| Parent or guardian contact records (not enrolled) | Deleted up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless the parent or guardian remains opted in to marketing or a longer period is required by law. |
| Limited child information in our CRM (first name and age) | Deleted up to 24 months after the last interaction if the child does not enroll. No payment, health, medical, date of birth, gender, or physician information is stored in our CRM. |
| Enrolled student profile and payment ledger (in our class-management platform) | Retained for up to 7 years after the last transaction to meet tax, accounting, and financial-recordkeeping obligations. This financial record is limited to the information needed to maintain the ledger. |
| Sensitive and personal child information held on an enrolled student profile (medical, allergy, physician, date of birth, gender, detailed progress notes) | Blanked or de-identified within 12 months after participation ends, even where the underlying profile is retained for the payment ledger, unless needed for an incident, legal hold, insurance, or dispute. The financial ledger may therefore be retained without retaining a child’s sensitive information for the same period. |
| Medical, allergy, emergency, or physician information for actively enrolled children | Retained only while needed to support safe participation and refreshed at least annually, then handled under the 12-month de-identification approach above once participation ends. |
| Waivers, participation consents, and media releases | Retained during active enrollment and for 3 years after last participation, or for as long as any related media or project remains in use plus 3 years, or longer where required by law. |
| Child photos, videos, likenesses, and project examples | Retained only while actively used for the approved purpose or as needed to document consent; reviewed at least annually and removed upon verified parental request where feasible. |
| Call recordings and transcripts | Retained for no longer than 12 months, with regular review to remove older records, unless needed for a dispute, incident, or legal hold. |
| Payment and transaction records | Retained for up to 7 years as required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and legal purposes, with a child’s personal and medical details minimized within the record. |
| Privacy request records | Retained for at least 24 months to document and manage privacy requests and compliance obligations. |
Security
We maintain a written information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These safeguards are intended to be appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including information relating to children, and the program is reviewed and updated at least annually.
No website, platform, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you have reason to believe that information you provided to Code Wiz is no longer secure, please contact us.
Data Storage and International Processing
We and our service providers may store and process personal information in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate or maintain facilities, which may include Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and the Asia-Pacific region. The privacy and data protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing and require service providers to protect personal information in accordance with applicable obligations.
Links and Third-Party Sites
Our websites may link to third-party websites, platforms, social media pages, booking pages, registration portals, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites or services that are not operated by Code Wiz. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any third-party site or platform you use.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice where required by law.
For material changes involving how we collect, use, or disclose children’s personal information, we will provide notice and obtain any required parental consent before applying the change to previously collected children’s personal information.
